We are having a Wild West SoapFest™ - Classes include CP Soap Making, M&P Soap Making and Mineral Make-Up. This will be our 6th Wild West SoapFest™...If you missed the previous ones, don't miss this one!! All are welcome!! Deadline to Sign-Up for the event - August 22, 2009

What Is?

... a Potluck BBQ?
The Arizona Conference hosts a Potluck BBQ every few months. Everyone brings a delicious dish to share...it can be a side dish, main course or dessert dish...whatever you like! It is a time to get together and visit with other local crafters. A relaxing and fun time to meet new people and connect with others with the same interests in soap and toiletry making... and candle making, too! We do not limit our crafters to these categories by any means...all crafters are welcome. We have Garage Sale tables for those who wish to sell their crafting items or buy items from their fellow crafters. Show 'n' Tell is another feature we started as well...a time where you can share a special memento or heirloom, a new technique in your craft you've just developed or learned, or a talent like singing or telling a sweet story.... it's wide open! We also have a Swap at each event that you are welcome to participate in. The Swaps have been FABULOUS!

... the Wild West SoapFest™?
Our Wild West SoapFests? are events that are teaching-inspired. We have either Classes (fees apply) and/or Demos (no fees). Everyone attending brings a finger-food dish to share with everyone else. We have our Garage Sale tables, a Swap and Show 'n' Tell. Occasionally, we will have a contest or two for you to enter! Our Classes and Demos are led by non-paid Instructors. We urge everyone to share in collecting ideas for Classes or Demos and we are always actively seeking Instructors. The fees for the Classes are for materials used, such as instruction sheets and project materials, and to cover the cost of the project you will take home. In every Class, you get to make something first-hand or you will take home what you saw made by the Instructor. With Demos, we ask that the Instructors also provide instructions when applicable. (The Demos do not usually involve receiving an item to take home.)

... a Swap?
A Swap is when each participant makes one full-size item of their choice for each of the other participants. Each person participating will take home one item from all the others. For example, if there are 10 participants in a particular Swap, you would bring 9 items to Swap and would go home with 9 items, one from each of the other participants. Swaps are completely voluntary?but so much fun!! A chance to show off your creativity and see what others can do as well.

Swap Guidelines:
1. Full size items, not sample sizes

2. Each participant makes 1 item for all other participants; i.e., if there are 10 participants in the swap, you will each bring 9 items to swap and you will take 9 different items home with you!! ;o)

3. Anything goes, but in good taste, "G-rated". It can be body care, soap, jewelry, or any other kind of special craft. (doncha think that would make it more fun than just soap?)

4. Ingredients *must* be listed, so that people with sensitivities can be aware. You certainly do not need to provide the recipe/formula, just the full ingredients, be it body care or something to eat.

5. Keep in mind that some of the participants will be traveling by plane, so it needs to be something easily packed and transported.
